Blanche Swenson Burch, 92, Charlotte, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Sardis Oaks Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Countryside Christian Churc. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Marceline, under the direction of Harry & Bryant Company, Charlotte, N.C., and Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee, Kan.

Blanche was born April 18, 1919, in Bucklin, daughter of Louis J. and Ella Oneida Swenson. She married Lloyd W. Burch of Marceline on October 23, 1940. He preceded her in death November 8, 1997.
Blanche was raised on a farm in rural Marceline and graduated in 1936 from Marceline High School. She attended a two year business college in Kansas City. She and her husband lived in Kansas City, Kan., and then made their home in Roeland Park, Kan., for over 45 years. She sold residential real estate in the Kansas City area for 20 years starting with one of the first female owned companies Gerry Keith Real Estates, and then worked for Hardin Stockton Real Estate Company. She was top sales producer and won several awards. She was a long time active member of Countryside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Mission, Kan., and the Blue Spruce Garden Club. She moved to Charlotte in late 2005 where she resided at Merrywood for four years and Emeritus at SouthPark Assisted Living for almost two years. While in Charlotte, she attended First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Survivors include her daughter, Julie Burch, and husband, Denver Board, Charlotte; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jody, Hixson, Tenn.; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Swenson, St. Petersburg, Fla.; her brother-in-law, Marvin Andrews; and several nieces, nephews, and their families.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Paul, Elmer and Glenn Swenson; and one sister, Louise Swenson.
