Elsie Melvina Kunkel, 76m, Linneus, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Brookfield, with Father Jerry Kaimann officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, with prayer at 6 p.m. with Sister Donna Eggerman and a Wake service from 6-8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bucklin Masonic Cemetery.
Memorials to the American Heart Association may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 216 Linn St., Brookfield, Mo. 64628.
Elsie Melvina was born March 7, 1932, in Bucklin, daughter of John O. and Cecil (Teeter) Wolfskill. She married John C. Kunkel, August 25, 1951, in Marceline. He preceded her in death March 30, 1999.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy, Lee's Summit, and Bret Kunkel, Brookfield; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Patricia and Robert Knorr, and Amy and Patrick Jenkins, St. Joseph, Paula and Thomas Carter, Kansas City, and Lisa Robb, Linneus; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth Ervie, Bucklin, and Georgie and Orville Burstert, New Cambria; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Richard, John Jr. and Leonard Wolfskill; and three sisters, Catherine Wolfskill, Helen Frisbie, and Betty Williams.
