Wilmer “Bill” Edward John Bartels, 94, Triplett, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Life Care Center of Brookfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, with Rodger Kelsey officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be in McCullough Cemetery, Triplett.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, Mo. 65236.
He was born July 14, 1915, in Guymon, Okla., son of Henry and Etta (Coulter) Bartels. He married Hortense A. Scott, August 7, 1943, in Chicago, Ill. She preceded him in death January 18, 1988.
He had been a farmer for almost 70 years and was a member of Brookfield Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David Lee and Mary Bartels, Triplett; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bob Unternaehrer, Brunswick; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harold in 1952, and Amos in 1982.
