Ruthanna J. Coons, 72, Galesburg, Ill., died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Graveside services were held Thursday, June 11, 2009, in Avon Cemetery, with Rev. David Parker officiating. Services were under the direction of Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.

She was born November 22, 1936, in New Cambria, daughter of John and Vada (Norfolk) Burnett. She married James Westfall, Sr. She later married Glenn L. Coons, February 25, 1978, in Maquon. He preceded her in death March 13, 2003.
Ruthanna was secretary at her husband, Glenn’s business, West Main Coal Yard, for many years. She was later a home health care provider. She graduated from ROVA High School.
Survivors include two sons, James “Bo” Westfall, Jr., East Galesburg, Ill., and Mikeal and Stacie Westfall, Galesburg, Ill.; three grandchildren, Nolan James, Katie and Kayla Westfall; a sister, Kay Walgren, Bucklin; a niece and her husband, Polly and Burk Forsythe; a step-son, Glenn R. Coon; and four step-daughters, Roberta Schacht, Glenna West, Elizabeth Coons and Susan Wichert.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Roger.
