Marie Elizabeth Ryan, 95, Greenbrier, Tenn., died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at NorthCrest Medical Center, Springfield, Tenn.
Graveside services were held today, June 17, 2009, in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, under the direction of Kistler Zirkle Funeral Home, Olney, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to The Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tenn. 37214, www.gideons.org, 615-564-5000, or the American Diabetes Association, 1-800-342-2383. Arrangements are under the direction of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Springfield, Tenn.
Mrs. Ryan was born October 8, 1913, in Wendelin, Ill., daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Drewes) Fehrenbacher. She married William J. Ryan in 1939.
She was a homemaker and a licensed beautician. She had been a 4-H Club leader and member of Immaculate Conception Women’s Club, Alter Society and Brookfield Ministerial Alliance.
Survivors include sons, W. John and Debbie Ryan, Greenbrier, Tenn., and Thomas C. and Charlotte Ryan, Brentwood, Tenn. a daughter, Patricia and Ronald Holland, Brookfield; a sister, Dorothy and Peter Kovacic, Ramona, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Nell Fehrenbacher, Barbara Fehrenbacher and Mary Lou Fehrenbacher; grandchildren, Jill and Todd Riepe, Chad and Amanda Newman, Robert Holland, Jonnie Linebaugh, Heather and Troy Breeden, Peter and Jeanna Ryan, Andy and Paige Ryan, Meagan Ryan, Audrey and Ken Zebley, Ashley and Talbot Harlin, Alicia and Brian Jones, Thomas Ryan, Jr., Kate and Meg Prentice; great-grandchildren, Derek and Lacey Riepe, Brock Riepe, Nathan and Victoria Newman, Ashley Richter, Spencer Hines, Jessie, Sarah and Jaiden Linebaugh, Amanda Breeden, Ava, Abigail and Noah Ryan; great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee Richter and Reagan Riepe, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph, Joseph, George, Walter and Dean Fehrenbacher; a sister, Cleo Kermicle; her sister-in-law, Faye Fehrenbacher; and her brother-in-law, Forest Kermicle.
