Last night, Brookfield welcomed Mexico and Cameron to Brookfield High School for a tri-meet. Prior to the Dogs dual against Mexico, the team honored their senior wrestler (Scates), and the three senior wrestling cheerleaders (Paige McCollum, Amanda Alexander, and Kristen Frazier).
The Brookfield High School basketball teams have played a pair of Clarence Cannon Conference games recently, and with no easy games in this Conference, have come away with a pair of losses.

The Meadville Eagles and Lady Eagles hosted Tina-Avalon on Friday night for their Homecoming celebration, where alumni returned to Meadville, and the 2012 Homecoming court was crowned with a Queen and King (see today’s front page).
The Marceline Middle School Lady Tigers took first place at the Lewis and Clark Conference tournament held last week at Tiger Fieldhouse over this past weekend. The Lady Tigers downed Paris 26-22 to end their season with a 12-4 record.

Last night, the Brookfield Bulldogs wrestling team hosted Polo and Trenton for a tri-meet at the BHS gym. Each team dualed one another, and the Dogs split their two duals on this occasion.
The Marceline Tigers and Lady Tigers hosted Schuyler County in what appeared to be a standard non-Conference game on Friday night at Tiger Fieldhouse. However, upon further examination, one remembers that this was a game against a District opponent, and a great chance to preview some post-season action.
The Bucklin Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs celebrated Homecoming last night at the gymnasium at Bucklin to a large crowd against the Atlanta Hornets in Tri-County Conference action. The black and red warriors fell in both contests.
The final winter sports chapter of the Highway 36 Rivalry played itself out at Tiger Fieldhouse last night as the Marceline Tigers welcomed the Brookfield Bulldogs to town for a team dual. The teams had eight contested matches, and Brookfield won seven of them to take a 51-9 team score win.
