The Brookfield Bulldogs' softball program notched a victory over the Schuyler County Rams on Thursday night, 8-5.

The 'Dogs struck hard in the second inning, posting four runs on three hits. Schuyler managed to cross a pair in the next half inning, and it tacked on one more in the fifth and did the remainder of its damage in the top of the seventh.

Brookfield scored two runs in the bottom of both the fourth and sixth innings.

The Bulldogs advance to a 3-13 with Thursday night's victory. Schuyler County falls to 5-12 on the season, including a 2-1 loss to Brookfield on September 2 in the final game of the Putnam County tournament.

Brookfield has just four regular season games remaining, beginning with a 10-9 Putnam County Midget team coming to town on Monday evening at 5 p.m.
