The Class 2 District 16 seeding was determined Wednesday morning at host school Macon. District play begins on Wednesday, October 4.

Brookfield locked the fifth seed above Milan, although the two teams finish regular-season play in Milan as something of a tune-up game on Monday evening. Brookfield's first-round game will be Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. against fourth-seeded South Shelby.

Marceline and Macon earned byes. Top-seeded Marceline awaits the winner of Brookfield's matchup. The Tigers play at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, and the host will play the winner of three-six matchup Putnam versus Milan.

The district championship will take place on Saturday, October 7, at 1 p.m.
