After a zippy start to grab a 7-0 lead, the Bucklin/Macon County boys' basketball team fell 72-36 to Keytesville on Monday night at home in New Cambria. The blowout drops BMC to 0-1, and it next plays Tuesday at 5:45 against Meadville in the opening round of the Northwestern Invitational Basketball Tournament.
Bucklin/Macon County led throughout the first quarter after holding Keytesville scoreless for the first three minutes. The two teams entered the first intermission tied at 12 apiece after a late Keytesville bucket, and in the second quarter, full-court pressure caused BMC turnovers aplenty.
The road team outscored Bucklin/Macon County 29-7 in that second period, and the remainder of the game was much the same.
