The Brookfield boys' basketball team, seeded seventh in the Husker Classic tournament in Higginsville, fell to Class 4 Oak Grove on Monday night, 64-32.

Although the score was lopsided, Bulldog coach Jerod Gillman thought his team trended in the right direction compared to its lackluster outing in Columbia on Saturday.

"Although the score wouldn't suggest it, the boys played a lot better than Saturday," Gillman said. "We were much more physical on the defensive end, and we rebounded well. Oak Grove is a very good Class 4 team, they're big and physical with outstanding guards. They're one of the best teams we'll face in any year."

Jacob Day led the Bulldogs with 15 points, and Tim Izard added six. Cooper Cisna and Cole Daugherity contributed three points apiece.
