The Brookfield Bulldogs' girls basketball team won its opening-round game of the Husker Classic in Higginsville on Monday night in memorable fashion.

The Bulldogs defeated Lexington, 55-54, on a shot by Regan Wood with two seconds remaining in overtime. That bucket was one of two for Wood.

Brookfield scored just 15 points in the first half but only trailed by one basket at halftime. The Bulldogs posted respective 18 and 13 point quarters in the third and fourth to force overtime at 46 points apiece.

Cassi Conard led the Bulldogs with 20 points, and six points in overtime was her highest-scoring period. Rylee Sensenich finished with 15 on five of her team's seven three-pointers, and Kate Ewing finished the evening with 10 points.
