The Brookfield boys' basketball team was unable to find its bite in Louisiana on Friday night, falling 72-32 and dropping to remain winless at 0-8.

"Louisiana is a very good team some solid players and one outstanding player," Brookfield coach Jarod Gillman said.

The Bulldogs have been playing without Evan Fay due to a lingering back injury, and Gillman said that Fay is his team's best all-around player.

Cooper Cisna was also out of the lineup on Friday night.

"This wasn't the difference in the game, but we are certainly a much more competitive team with those guys in the lineup," Gillman said. "Christmas break is a good thing for us to give us some time to hopefully get healthy."

Wyatt Reed led the Bulldogs with eight points. Jacob Day and Tyler Pickens both finished with six.

Louisiana's Derek Richards went off for 26 with 18 of those coming in the first quarter.

By the time of this publication, Brookfield will have traveled to Huntsville to face Westran on Monday night.
