Fort Osage catcher Spencer Patrick was perfect at the plate with a 3-for-3 night but it wasn't enough in a loss to Staley Thursday.

Staley jumped to a 5-2 lead after four innings and held on for a 6-3 Suburban Middle Six victory at Fort Osage.

Fort Osage scored one run in each of the first, third and sixth innings.

Patrick scored a run to go along with his three hits; and Bryce Dye, Nick Dye and Ethan Gotch each added a hit and an RBI.

Zane Barr picked up the loss as he gave up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks and struck out seven.

“Zane pitched well, and we just came up short against a very strong team,” Indians coach Chris Walker said after his team dropped to 9-10 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
