Friday night the Marceline Tigers and Lady Tigers traveled to Huntsville for a Conference battle with Westran.  The following evening, the teams played out the third place games at the delayed Marceline Tiger Hoops Classic.  The teams have a lot to be proud of, winning two big games each in back-to-back days.
In the girls game at Westran, neither team scored until over half of the first quarter was in the books.  After one frame, the Lady Tigers were down 9-5.  Taylor Enyeart and Josie Wright led scoring with two points each.
In the second quarter, Marceline outscored Westran 15-9 to take a lead they never lost again.  At halftime, the Lady Tigers were up 20-18.  Kendra Gladbach, who went 10-11 from the free throw line in the game, led scoring with six points.
Marceline continued to play well after the respite, and lead 35-26 after three quarters.  Lauren Ewigman had six points in the third quarter.  Head Coach Kirsten Smith referred to this game as Lauren’s best offensive game of the season.
