The Keytesville Basketball Tournament is underway this week and features a pair of Linn County basketball teams in action. The Marceline Tigers and Bucklin Bulldogs are both playing, and a pair of these squads faced off in first round action.
The Lady Tigers and the Lady Bulldogs played on Monday night in an opening round contest. The Lady Tigers came out and took an early 9-4 lead over Bucklin. Lauren Ewigman and Kendra Gladbach both had three points for Marceline, while Emily Sorenson and Taylor Bailey had two each for the Lady Bulldogs.
In the second frame, Marceline outscored Bucklin 14-8. Shelby Shoemaker led scoring for the Lady Bulldogs with six points, but the Lady Tigers still led 23-12 at the half. McKenzie Ewigman and Abby Gauthier both had three points for Marceline.
