The long memorial Day weekend was not really a rest-filled time for the area’s athletes who competed at State Track.  These athletes traveled to Jefferson City, where they competed over two days, and walked away with medals in 12 different events over two classes.
The results at State Track are as follows:  in the class two boys triple jump, Eric Comstock of Marceline took fourth overall with a leap of 43’ 1”.  Fellow Tiger Taylor Fandson took ninth in the class two long jump with a leap of 15’ 7.5”.  In the class one 800m run, Linn County’s Tommy McWhorter took 10th with a time of 2:07.10.  Meadville’s Kendra Holcer took 10th in the class one 3200m run with a time of 13:09.02.  Marceline’s Katie Gladbach tied for seventh in the class two high jump with a height of 5’ 2”.  Linn County’s Jordan Russell took 12th in the class one 100m hurdles with a time of 17.74.  Dillon Devoy of Brookfield took seventh in the class two 110m hurdles with a time of 15.63.  Meadville’s Willie Howe took 16th with a time of 12.21 in the class one 100m dash.  Marceline’s girls 4x200m relay team; consisting of Alyson Ewigman, Molly Ewigman, Frandson and Gladbach, took ninth in the event with a time of 1:48.90.
