The Marceline Tigers and Lady Tigers seasons have wrapped up at home, but the black and gold attack is still finishing up thier schedule on the road before next week’s District Tournament.
Last week, the teams traveled to LaPlata for a pair of games.  Last night, the teams traveled to Slater for a pair of Confrence games.
At LaPlata, the Lady Tigers started things off with a nicce win, featuring the first double-double in the career of Kendra Gladbach.  This performance helped seal her in as KRES radio’s Athlete of the Week.
Marceline took a slim lead early in the game, and led 25-20 at the half.  LaPlata tied the game in the third quarter at 41-41, but the Lady Tigers held on for a 58-52 win.
“I was very happy with how the girls played tonght,” said Head Coach Kirsten Smith.  “Kendra [Gladbach] had a great night shooting the ball and her teammates really rallied aroud her energy.  It’s nice that we were able to put together a good game against a good team going into our final week of the regular season.”
Kendra Gladbach had 32 points and 12 rebounds, Maggie Robinson had eight points, and McKenzie Ewigman had a career-high 16 boards as well.
The Tigers had trouble in the nightcap.  Despite a slim first quarter lead, the Tigers lost this game 59-40.
