Linn County Extension Council Seeks Council Member Candidates

The Linn County Extension Council is comprised of a 15 member board with 10 elected members and three appointed members representing Farm Bureau, the City of Brookfield, and the Linn County Commission as well as one youth from each Linn County 4-H and FFA clubs. Members serve a two-year term, with half of the elected membership being elected annually January/February. Extension Council members act as educational brokers, putting the interests and concerns of the local community together with the resources of our land-grant university to achieve the goals of our community.

Christina May Fristoe

BROOKFIELD - Christina May Fristoe age 70 of Brookfield, Mo passed away at her home on November 24, 2021. Christina was born to Mildred Davidson on November 21, 1951 in Columbia, MO. She was raised by her grandmother Mary Davidson. Christina married Robert “Toby” Patton on November 1, 1974. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1988. She married Charles Vernon Fristoe on December 9, 1997. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2021. A celebration of life will be held on December 10, 2021 at 11am at New Life Church with Pastor Jeff Keck and Brother John Edwards in Brookfield, MO. Christina was a homemaker for the majority of her life and loved to play bingo with her friends. Christina is survived by two sons Rocky Lee(Clark) Smith of Kansas and Christopher Lynn Clark(wife Patti) of Edwardsville, KS. Two daughter Robert Jane Shoengood(fiancé Donald) and Mary Beatrice Patton-Jobson both of Brookfield, MO. One stepson William Robb of Brookfield, MO and one stepdaughter Roberta (Robyn) Wells of DesMoines, IA. She is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Christina was preceded in death by both of her husbands, her mother, grandmother,brother Robert Davidson, sister Clara B. Wright Waters, grandson Jessie Adams, and niece Roberta McDonald.

Ida Frances Asher

LOUISVILLE - Ida Frances Asher, 86 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 26, 2021. Ida Frances Asher was born August 23, 1935 in Cockrell Township, Chariton County Missouri, to Oscar and Ila Cook. She went to school in Keytesville, Missouri. Frances married Carlos Asher and they had three children - Carl Wayne, Glenn, and Amy. After her second marriage she moved to New Albany, Indiana in 1974. Frances had a varied career, including layout work at a publishing plant, a cosmetologist, and a sales person for yearbooks and later, commercial furniture. It kept her very busy, and she enjoyed traveling. She eventually moved to Louisville and kept working until she married Jim McClelland. They enjoyed traveling and Jim’s veteran’s groups. Over the years Frances attended United Methodist Churches.
