On Jan. 5, several weeks fate construction began the City of Brookfield officially announced a Fed Ex Distribution Center is coming to Brookfield. In Fall of 2021, the Brookfield City Council voted to annex the property located off of South Highway 11, just southwest of Walmart. Marceline’s new Dollar General Market is said to be the largest in the state with approximately 12,480 square feet and will sell a variety of items including fresh produce and a larger selection of grocery and household items. Curbside Collection: • Pickup is once per week on Tuesday in the 95-Gallon Cart provided. • Carts must be placed curbside the night before collection day, or prior to 6 a.m.
Candidate filing for the Marceline City Council closed at 5 p.m., on Dec. 28, 2021, with three residents filing for two seats on the city council, for the General Election, which will be held on Tuesday, April 5.
Filing for seats on area school boards also ended on Dec. 28, for the election to be held April 5.
MARCELINE — It effectively was a storybook ending for senior Nathan Cupp and the 2021- 22 Marceline High School wrestling Tigers last Tuesday. Except it was only one chapter.
