BROOKFIELD — The 2022 Gary Haag Invitational high school boys’ wrestling tournament could scarcely have delivered keener, close, high-quality competition than it did last Saturday. That makes the Marceline Tigers’ performance all the sweeter.
First Missouri Bank donated $5,000 to the Brookfield Ministries – Food pantry. Due to the pandemic, they have seen an increased need for their services and have also been faced with shortages in food supplies to provide to those families. Melissa Hicks went to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2022 in her home with her mother by her side. She put up a valiant fight with renal cancer until the very end. She was so loved and will be terribly missed.
Leo Carlisle Benskin, 76 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville. Leo was born September 12, 1945, West of Browning, Missouri to Russell and Helen (Hicks) Benskin.

MEADVILLE — Friday’s all-Eagles duel was all-Meadville, in terms of results. MHS’ Lady Eagles (14-3) cruised easily, as expected, dropping Northwestern’s girls to 5-11 on the season.
MACON — While the final print of the overall Milan Invitational Tournament “photo” for the Marceline High School basketball Tigers and Lady Tigers won’t emerge until this coming Monday (Jan. 31), given the way last week went, the squads hope for a complete inversion of how the Macon Invitational tourney developed for them.
