Following the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773, King George III approved a series of four Coercive Acts which were known as the Intolerable Acts to the colonists. These Acts were passed between March 31 and June 2, 1774. But what were these Acts and what effects did they have on Massachusetts and the rest of the colonies?
JEFFERSON CITY — Hundreds of inmates in county jails throughout Missouri are awaiting inpatient psychiatric care but can’t receive it due to severe staff shortages at state hospitals. “We are truly struggling with a workforce crisis,” Valerie Huhn, director of the Department of Mental Health, told state representatives at a hearing last week.

A new community education course at North Central Missouri College (NCMC) is now enrolling participants for Computer Basics for the Mature Learner. This non-credit course is open to members of the public, and enrollees do not need to be NCMC students. Computer Basics for the Mature Learner will be on Mondays from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 28, March 7, March 14 and March 21 on the NCMC Main Campus in Hoffman Hall 101 in Trenton.

Otto Sonnenmoser, 71, Rushville, fell through the ice at the Jamesport Community Lake and drowned on Feb. 8, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
