The Meadville R-IV School District is asking patrons to pass a No-Tax Increase Bond Issue, that will allow the district to make improvements without increasing district taxpayers school taxes. The language voters will find on their ballot on April 5, will read: “Shall the Board of Education of the Meadville R-IV School District, Missouri, without an estimated increase in the current debt service property tax levy, borrow money in the amount of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000) for the purpose of providing funds to replace roofs District-wide; to remove asbestos; to install new flooring in four classrooms and the library; to upgrade the electrical infrastructure; to install a new telephone/paging system; to complete classroom upgrades; to purchase new computers for teachers; to complete parking lot improvements; to the extent funds are available, complete other repairs and improvements to the existing facilities of the District; and issue general obligation bonds for the payment thereof ? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $1.0500 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.” Meadville R-IV School Superintendent Misty Adamek said, “The April 5, No-Tax Increase Bond Issue will not raise patron’s current school taxes.
