Moms Breaking the Silence hosted a free Family Fun Day at Brookfield's South City Park on Saturday. The event included face painting, children's obstacle course petting zoo, bounce houses, food, access to mental health resources and more.

Stallo named to Columbia College Spring 2022 Semester dean's list Columbia College recently announced its dean's list for the Spring 2022 Semester (January-April, 2022). To be named to the dean's list, a student must have completed 12 semester hours in a 16-week period and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0-point scale.
Linn County 4-H Contest Day Held
The Linn County 4-H Contest Day for 2022 was held Saturday, April 30 at the Linn County Area Career Center, with 48 participating members from the seven Linn County clubs: Brookfield 4-Her’s, Pershing’s Pride, Shafter, Shelby, South Eagle, Southeast Linn & Wyandotte. This year’s contests, hosted by Pershing’s Pride and Wyandotte clubs, included table setting, collections, quilts, photography, personal interview, public speaking, demonstrations, judging and skill-a-thon. Working and General Demonstrations are eligible to continue to the Missouri State Fair. Awards are given at the end of the event and the results for each age division are as follows:
District-Champ Marceline Golf Tigers Set For State
MOBERLY — In a sensational, welltimed show of skill, four Marceline High School golf Tigers shot 18-holes rounds of 84 or lower in the Class 1 District 2 tournament last Monday, placing them all among the 8-best individual rounds and powering the Tigers to the team championship and one of the district’s two team berths in this coming Monday’s and Tuesday’s Class 1 State Championships tournament near Springfield.

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 2022 Great Plains Region Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year is Brookfield's Better By Design, LLC. This award honors small businesses at the national and regional levels in federal procurement, specifically, having provided outstanding goods and services to the U.S. Government in their role as prime contractor. Better By Design, LLC was nominated for their performance on two federal contracts they were awarded as 8(a) sole-source direct awards in 2020 and 2021. The company’s innovativeness of products and services filled a niche/technical need not being adequately addressed by competition.
