D.A.R.E. Graduates

Marceline's Walt Disney Elementary School fifth graders recently graduated from D.A.R.E., as lead by Police Chief Bob Donelson. The students celebrated with a pool party then pizza lunch at the park.

Recently, Raegan Duey and Mason Barnett were named Marceline Middle and High School Students of the Week. Duey's activities include softball and basketball. She enjoys being outside and hanging out with friends and family. Barnett's activities include football and wrestling. He enjoys arrowhead hunting, flint knapping, and spending time with friends and family.

State Band Festival Results Recently, Marceline R-V students took part in Band State Festival. State Festival Solo was Sophomore Sarah Wright, Junior Steven Graves, and Senior Madelynne Bond results are as follows: Steven Graves-Trombone Solo-State Festival -Bronze; Sarah Wright-Trumpet Solo-State Festival-Silver; and Madelynne Bond-Vocal Solo-State Festival-Silver.

Marceline FACS Receives Grant

The Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) Department at Marceline High School was recently awarded $1000 from Macon Electric Cooperative to put towards the purchase of two new stoves. This grant is made possible by Operation Round Up which is funded by the voluntary contributions of Macon Electric customers.

Baseball Bulldogs’ Collier, Norman Fire Home No-Hitter

On the heels of a combined 3-pitchers 1-hitter in a win over Southwest Livingston/Tina-Avalon only two days earlier, the Brookfield High School baseball Bulldogs’ second-year program recorded its first-ever no-hitter last Thursday (April 28, 2022) when starting pitcher Bryson Collier and reliever Gabe Norman shackled visiting Grundy County R-5/Newtown-Harris in an 8-0 BHS victory.

Legion Riders Visit New Cambria

Saturday afternoon, April 30, the Bucklin Chapter 57 American Legion Riders met at the New Cambria True Blue Restaurant for their monthly meeting. The Chapter 57 Legacy 170 mile Ride will be June 11th, starting 10 a.m., at Bevier Loves Truck Stop. Chapter 57 Director invited any vehicle to participate.
