American Red Cross Blood Drive June 6 An American Red Cross Blood drive is being held from 1:30-5:30 p.m., June 6 at the Walsworth Community Center, 124 E Ritchie St., Marceline. Wright Funeral Home 75th Anniversary Celebration Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield, is celebrating its 75th Anniversary with a community celebration.

Fabric Chateau Joins Brookfield Chamber

The Brookfield Area Chamber Of Commerce welcomed new business owner Laura Carr to downtown Main Street on with a ribbon cutting on May 16. Laura’s store is Fabric Chateau, she sells 100% cotton fabric that is mainly used in quilts and also bags, place-mats, table runners and aprons. The store is quipped with a long-arm quilting machine and will be offering services in the future. The store also sells Janome sewing machines. Carr’s store is participating in the first year All-Missouri Shop Hop in September and October. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.,-6 p.m., Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.,- 4 p.m., on Saturdays. Fabric Chateau is located at 112 N Main St. in Brookfield.

Lady Tiger Reigns Again

New 2022 Marceline High School graduate Ramzee Bruner punctuated her high school years in exquisite fashion last Saturday, overcoming adversity not of her own making to win the Class 2 track-and-field state championship in the high jump for a third time. MHS' second 3-times state champ in track and field, Bruner likely would have been the first 4-times state champ, but for cancellation of her would-be sophomore season during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
