Memorial Day weekend is a highly anticipated opportunity for people to enjoy Missouri’s state parks, lakes, sporting events, and attractions. This means more travelers on Missouri’s roadways and an increase in boating traffic on the state’s lakes and rivers. Drivers and boat operators are reminded to follow all Missouri’s laws and be courteous. Safety should always be part of your weekend plans. Always wear a seat belt when traveling in a vehicle and wear a life jacket when near, on, or in the water.

Linn County Farm Bureau Board met Thursday, May 19, at Brookfield. Attending were Marc Zell, Steve and Jill Hardy, Caleb Henke, Hannah Kiehl, Holly Switzer and Dana Lane.

May 18-20 auditions were held for the Blaze Cherrleading 2022-2023 season. The following youth were selected to the teams.

There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and over and $6.75 cost for meals for those 59 years and under. Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 – 12:00, except on holidays.

Poppy Days Poppy Days in Linn County sponsored by Browning, Bucklin and Linneus American Legion Auxiliaries are Thursday, May 26, at Wal-Mart from 9 a.m., -12 p.m., Friday, May 27, at Prenger's from 9 a.m., -12 p.m. and Orscheln's from 1-4 p.m.

The second annual Linn County Extreme Bull Ride will be held this Saturday at the Linn County Fairgrounds in Brookfield. The event, sponsored by Brookfield Vet Clinic and Linn County Fair Board, begins with gates opening at 5:30 p.m., Mutton Bustin' at 6 p.m., and bull riding at 7 p.m.

The Linn County Commission met on May 10 with Commissioners Murrain and Muck and Clerk Stephenson present. Commissioner Muck, serving as Acting Presiding in Commissioner King’s absence, called the meeting to order. The agenda was reviewed.
