A’s Extend Hex Over Mudcats With Late Runaway Friday

CLARINDA, Iowa — While the weather wasn’t as hot for the Chillicothe Mudcats last Friday as the night before, they found the host Clarinda, Iowa, A’s had not cooled off any. The A’s, who blazed through the MINK League at a mind-boggling 32-5 clip and swept their 7-games 2021 season series with the Mudcats (one rainout was not made up) with nothing closer than a 6-runs margin, continued their early-2022 rampage and overwhelming dominance of Chillicothe Friday with a 10-1 triumph on Merl Eberly Field.

Loesch, Dillon Pitch Mudcats To Rare Low-Scoring ‘W’ Saturday

Within the small-sample size of their young season, the prospects of the 2022 Chillicothe Mudcats winning one of their college-level, wood-bat baseball games when producing only four runs were pretty poor entering Saturday night’s home game with the Jefferson City Renegades, but they pulled it off for a second time to reach the threshold of team history.

NCMC Awarded Over $1.4 Million To Help Low Income, Potential First Generation College Students Access Higher Education

The U.S. Department of Education announced that North Central Missouri College (NCMC) will receive a federal Upward Bound grant of $1,488,005 or $297,601 annually for five years to help more low-income students who would be the first members of their families to earn degrees to prepare for and enroll in college. NCMC has sponsored an Upward Bound Program since 1999 and serves 50 students per year. The high schools that will be served in the successful grant include Trenton, Brookfield, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Penney (Hamilton), and Tri-County (Jamesport).

Daughters Of American Revolution Honor Legion

Linda Haley and Janean Faux, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution Marceline Continental Congress Marceline Chapter, presented the Bucklin American Legion Green Hills Post 57 an American flag that flew over George Washington 's Mt. Vernon residence and then subsequently was flown over the Marceline Carnegie Public Library on it's 100th birthday. The presentation took place Sunday evening June 19, 2022, at the Bucklin Legion Hall.
