Vermeil, Ex-Chiefs, St. Louis Rams Head Coach, Into Pro Football Hall Of Fame

CANTON, Ohio — Dick Vermeil, whose combination of enthusiasm, dedication, passion, and unwavering loyalty as a coach helped fuel the revitalization of three struggling National Football League franchises – including both the Kansas City Chiefs and then-St. Louis Rams, yet also prompted him to leave the profession for nearly 15 years in what traditionally would be considered the prime of a coach’s career, last Saturday became a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.

Galloway Detail The Nearly $8 Billion Missouri Has Received In Federal Relief For COVID-19

Through end of March 2022, state had spent more than $6 billion in federal stimulus dollars intended for COVID-19 response from CARES Act, American Rescue Plan and other programs The latest monthly reports from State Auditor Nicole Galloway detailing state government's use of federal stimulus dollars intended for the COVID-19 response shows Missouri received $7.92 billion between April 2020 and March 2022. As the state's financial watchdog, the State Auditor's Office has issued the reports since June 2020 examining Missouri government's distribution and spending of funding received under the federal CARES Act, American Rescue Plan and other federal assistance programs.

Northwest Missouri Coalition For Roadway Safety Grant Funds Available

Over the last several years, agencies and organizations across Northwest Missouri have received funding for programs aimed at reducing injuries and fatalities on our roadways. With preliminary reports showing 49 fatalities within the northwest region’s 20 counties during 2021, the work is not over yet. To assist agencies in the fight towards zero deaths in Northwest Missouri, and across the state, the Northwest Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety (NWMCRS) is once again offering grants for highway and traffic safety programs and resources.

USDA Increases Funding For Partnerships To Safeguard, Restore Wetland Ecosystems

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing up to $20 million in fiscal year 2023 to help conservation partners nationwide protect and restore critical wetlands through the Wetland Reserve Enhancement Partnership (WREP). USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is prioritizing proposals that support efforts to mitigate climate change by restoring wetlands while also prioritizing assistance to underserved communities. Last year, NRCS funded $11 million in partnerships. Proposals from partners are due Sept. 23, 2022.
