Missouri Veterans Commission To Host Free Legal Clinic For Drafting Wills And Powers Of Attorney

The Missouri Veterans Commission (MVC), in conjunction with St. Joseph attorneys Emily Bauman, Jennifer McKinley and John Spencer, will be providing free legal assistance with wills and powers of attorney for local Veterans and their spouses. The event will take place on August 25, at the Law Offices of Tieman, Spencer & Hicks at 702 Felix Street, St. Joseph. The event is by appointment only and the last day to RSVP is August 19. The Courage2ReportMO program provides a safe and confidential way to report any concerns regarding their safety or the safety of others. These concerns may include: assault, bullying/repeated harassment, cyber bullying, fighting, guns, homicide, human trafficking, knife, planned school attack, imminent school shooting, school shooting threat, sexual offense, suicide-other person (3rd party), or a terrorism threat (extremism). Those reporting their concerns may remain anonymous by not providing their name. The Patrol received 743 reports through the Courage2Report program from Aug. 1, 2021, through May 24, 2022.

Some grocery store seafood counter workers can skin a fish with the best of them, while others may mangle the fillet or leave much of the skin on. Call for Artists

A collection of works by area artists will begin the 2022-2023 exhibition schedule in the Dorris Rider Art Gallery at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. “Local Artists Showcase 14” will open on Aug. 23, and run through Oct. 7. Regular hours at the Rider Art Gallery are 8:30 a.m., to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as selected weekend and evening hours by appointment.
