BTC Bank is proud to announce it has signed an agreement to purchase Merchants and Farmers Bank with locations in Salisbury, Fayette, Columbia and Hardin, Missouri. Terms of the purchase provide for BTC Bank to acquire substantially all of the assets and deposits associated with Merchants and Farmers Bank.
The Linn County Commission met on July 19 with Commissioners King, Murrain and Muck and Clerk Stephenson present. Commissioner King called the meeting to order.

Recently, MOMS Breaking the Silence was awarded the Missouri Behavioral Health Council's Loss Survivor Award. According to the MOMS Breaking the Silence website, "Moms Breaking the Silence was established to break the silence surrounding mental illness by providing mental health education and financial assistance for our communities. We are a resource for those who need mental health assistance but don’t know where to start."
Regional Missouri Bank (RMB) has announced its plans to open a new branch in Brookfield, Missouri. The branch will be located at 216 N Main Street. The new branch will offer deposit, lending and drive-thru services.
Captain Erik A. Gottman, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces Corporal Lee C. Ewigman was assigned as a Troop B Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Trooper. Corporal Ewigman was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2008. After graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop C, Zone 19, serving the citizens of Lincoln and Pike counties. On October 1, 2011, he transferred from Troop C to Troop B, Zone 11, serving the citizens of Randolph and Monroe counties. On October 1, 2015, he transferred from Zone 11, to Zone 3, serving the citizens of Linn and Chariton counties. On June 1, 2021, he was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 3.
Nancy Royal has been found guilty in the death of an 11-year-old in 2019. The Livingston County jury found Royal guilty following the three-day trail, which was presented by Linn County Prosecuting Attorney Shiante McMahon in Livingston County due to a change of venue.
