The CHS Drama Department has big plans for both the fall and spring shows this year. Lisa Rule, director, said that the two shows offer something for everyone. The fall play will be “Courage and Love: The George & Erika Mandler Story” and the spring play will be “Frozen.” Nearly 15 years ago, the CHS Drama Department produced a play “Courage and Love: The George & Erika Mandler Story” to honor the journey and lives of these Holocaust survivors and long-time Chillicothe residents. On Nov. 10-13, the play with a cast and crew of 60 will be produced once more with shows for students and also for the general public.

BROOKFIELD — While the ultimate result was in little doubt from the outset, Brookfield High School’s football Bulldogs delivered some positive moments as they lost to state power Monroe City 58-22 at BHS’ Burlington Field last Friday. Although the visiting Panthers put up five first-half touchdowns plus several 2-points conversions, Brookfield junior quarterback Colton Parn hit for two of his three touchdown passes during the second period to keep the “running clock” off the table until late in the third stanza against the unbeaten Clarence Cannon Conference foe.
