Marceline Rally Takes Pigskin Shootout from Host Panthers

SALISBURY — Down 26-14 entering the fourth quarter on the road, the Marceline High School football Tigers charged down the homestretch with three touchdowns in the last 12 minutes to overtake and shade the Salisbury Panthers in a high-scoring 36-32 contest last Friday. The comeback – on the heels of the prior week’s initial victory of the season – lifted the MHS records to 2-1 in the Lewis and Clark Conference and 2-4 overall heading into this Friday’s regular- season (and possibly 2022) home finale against the Scotland County Tigers.

George Wilber Calvert died on September 27, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born at home near Linneus, Missouri on September 25, 1927, a son of Vernon W. Calvert and Irene Norvell Calvert.
