BNSF will be conducting track replacement and maintenance of the railroad crossing intersections in Marceline at Santa Fe Avenue and Crocker Street beginning Oct. 4 and ending at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6. Both railroad crossing intersections will be closed for the duration of the project.

After receiving information about a firearm possibly being in a student vehicle at Southwest School, on Sept. 30, law enforcement officials found a toy gun, knives and a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. According to Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox, his office received the call on Friday, Sept. 30, with information of a possible firearm in a student's vehicle at Southwest School in Livingston County.
