BHS Can’t Sustain Successful Start in District Grid Loss

GALLATIN — Brookfield High School’s football Bulldogs went into last Friday’s Class 1 District 6 playoffs semifinal game as significant underdogs to the undefeated, top-seeded Gallatin Bulldogs. With little to lose, second-year head coach Cory Luke started the game with a roll of the dice that came up seven, leading to an early six points and a lead many would have figured they’d never hold in the game.

Mendon: Northwestern Girl Just Misses State Medal

PCOLUMBIA — Both girls from Mendon’s Northwestern High School who participated in last weekend’s Class 1 cross-country running state championships did quite well. FreshmanMadiOstermannfinishedthe5-kilometers run across the Gans Greek Cross-Country Running Course, southeast of Columbia, in 22 minutes flat, a 27th-fastest time that was only four seconds shy of earning her a top-25 finish, state medal, and All-State status.
