Return Of Central Standard Time Is Opportunity to Plan For Fire Safety as Heaters Turn on and Holiday Seasons Begin

State Fire Marshal Tim Bean recommends Missouri families invest the extra time gained this weekend as we “fall back” to Central Standard Time to take several simple steps to keep their families safe during autumn and winter. On Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 a.m., clocks “fall back” one hour as daylight saving time ends.

November 2022 Ballot Initiatives

On Tuesday November 8, Missourians will head to the polls not only to vote for the individuals they think will best serve their interests, but also to consider potential changes to our Missouri Constitution. In total, voters will have four constitutional amendments to consider, as well as a question on whether the state should convene a constitutional convention that could draft a new constitution for the state of Missouri.

New Local History Book

The Livingston County Preservation Society presents a new local history book entitled, Theatres of Chillicothe, Tingles, Keen Zip, Brisk Sparkles and Romance! by local author Kirsten Mouton. This book covers the earliest known performances in the 1850s to the opera houses, moving pictures, and into the era of big theatres like the Ritz and Ben Bolt. Other venues of entertainment are also examined, including the old Chillicothe High School, State Industrial Home for Girls, and the Chillicothe Business College. The book is packed with old pictures, maps and news.
