Legion donates to suicide prevention program

Sunday evening, Nov. 20, at the post Legion Hall, Bucklin American Legion Green Hills Post 57 Commander Wayne Kitchen presented an $800.00 check to American Legion Chapter 57 Riders Director Robert Maddox. The money is for American Legion veteran suicide prevention ‘Be the One.” Maddox stated. 'The program is to include every one of us. We all need to ‘Be the One’ to begin thinking, talking and acting to save just one life.”

Status Quo for County’s Prep Hoops Programs’ Districts

COLUMBIA — When the Missouri State High School Activities Association announced its classification and district groupings for 2022-23 basketball and wrestling postseason competition late last week (Nov, 18), there were no surprises and no changes for the six schools within or overlapping a portion of Linn County. In basketball, both Marceline and Brookfield again are in Class 3 and have been placed in District 16 with the same other schools which comprised it last year – Trenton, Carrollton, Hamilton: Penney, South Harrison and Milan.

Christmas is Coming

Main Street Brookfield, Brookfield Chamber of Commerce, The Partnership, Parks and Recreation, and the City of Brookfield crews joined forces to celebrate the “Holiday Music on Main” with the citizens of Brookfield. All have been working long and hard hours to “Deck the Halls” and plan many Christmas events for Brookfield to enjoy.
