Mouton to host book signing

Meet the author and get the new local history book, “heatres of Chillicothe, Tingles, Keen Zip, Brisk Sparkles and Romance! Author Kirsten Mouton will be at Boji Stone at 612 Washington Street on Thursday, December 8 from 5-7 p.m. Her new book covers the earliest known opera houses, nickelodeons, and moves into the era of big theatres like the Ritz and Ben Bolt.

GRM distributes more than $5.5 million in capital credits to member-owners

The GRM Networks Board of Directors has authorized the return of approximately $3 million in patronage capital credits to its member-owners. This includes $2.4 million paid to members with service in 1999 and $600,000 paid to members with service in 2021. This year, GRM Networks has also returned more than $2.5 million to the estates of deceased members. Combined, a grand total of more than $5.5 million will be returned to members, or their estates, in 2022.

MARCELINE — Two Marceline High School Tigers and two Lady Tigers proved to be primed and ready for their first competitive home appearance of the 2022-23 wrestling seasons last Saturday. When the Tiger Mat Classic, which drew 11 schools, concluded, Tigers Ryder Gooch and Conner Quinn and Lady Tigers Payton Weese and Maddie Dauber had gone unbeaten on the day and earned tourney titles.

Unit, Post 57 deliver items to nursing homes

On November 25, 2022, Unit 57 Green Hills American Legion President Wilma Jobson and Post 57 Green Hills American Legion Vice-Commander Bobby Jobson delivered lap blankets, wheel-chair bags, walker bags, catheter bags and adult clothing protectors to five different local nursing homes, possibly be delivering to Cameron Veterans Home and Columbia V A Hospital. Six members of GHALA got together different times thru the year at the Post Hall and made 120 lap blankets and 50 adult clothing protectors. One member sewed at home and made 100 each of the wheel-chair bags, walker bags and catheter bags. The group of members will be getting together first of the 2023 year and start all over again, they so enjoy doing this for our veterans.
