Combatting the winter blues

For some, winter brings magical joy, with snow, hot chocolate, sledding, and merriment for the holiday seasons. For others, it means shorter days, isolation, and challenging memories of past years. While we cannot change the number of daylight hours, we can adjust some things to make the season less heavy and more restorative. Here are a few tips to taking back control of your space, and your mood, when it’s cold outside.

What did I get myself into?

As we start to wrap-up 2022 and look into 2023 many of us may have said yes to serving on a board or been elected to a board or council. Either way when it comes to serving in this type of a roll be sure to learn all you can about what you are getting into. You might need to do a little research and even talk to others that are serving or have served. There are certain things to think about when working with a public type board, council or committee.

Second Halves Tell Story in Marceline League Hoops Split

Girls mesh offense, defense to beat Paris by 29 Tuesday PARIS — With eight players contributing at least four points and thanks to a dominant second half, Marceline High School’s basketball Lady Tigers tipped off their Lewis and Clark Conference schedule for 2022-23 this past Tuesday with a 54-25 triumph at Paris. Behind after one quarter and in front of Lady Coyotes only 21-16 midway through, the Lady Tigers were ignited by the first of Ireland Bloss’ three second-half treys as they outscored Paris 21-2 in the third quarter and 33-9 after intermission.

Missouri’s firearms deer seasons are about over for this year with the only one remaining being the alternative methods season (muzzleloaders, etc.), which will run from Dec. 24-Jan.
