There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and over and $6.75 cost for meals for those 59 years and under. Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 a.m., – 12 p.m., except on holidays.

In 2022, the Downtown Marceline Foundation continued its mission to enhance the near term and long term quality of community life for those residing in, doing business in, and visiting Marceline. We’ve been working with the Marceline IDA (Industrial Development Authority) and the City of Marceline, as well as our wonderful volunteers, including committee members and Board members, and we can’t thank everyone enough for their time and efforts.
Moms Breaking the Silence takes donations for Main Street 201 Moms Breaking the Silence, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending stigma surrounding suicide prevention and mental health awareness, has started another nonprofit service project for the Linn County area.
Linn County Senate Bill 40 hosted the first Safety Fair at Park Baptist Church, Brookfield, on Tuesday, January 10, in the Fellowship Hall. Children with disabilities, as well as their parents, guardians, and caregivers were invited to meet informally with police officers, first responders, and fire department personnel to learn more about safety issues and interacting with public safety personnel.

“The weather outside was frightful” and it certainly affected the deer harvest in the alternative-methods firearms deer season which ended Jan. 3.

Brookfield High School’s wrestling Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs continue to thrive this past week, winning their “king of the county” home match with Marceline last Tuesday and subduing Gallatin and the host teams at Chillicothe two nights later before the boys decisively claimed the crown of the Sam Martin Invitational tournament at Plattsburg.
