Meadville Girls ‘All In,’ Take Salisbury Title

SALISBURY — It realistically can’t be viewed any other way. This season’s Meadville High School basketball Lady Eagles are “the real deal.” Taking down state-ranked teams from higher classifications in both the semifinals and championship game of the Salisbury Invitational tournament last Thursday and Saturday, the MHS girls (13-0) clearly established their ceiling – serious state-championship contention.

1956-2022 Helena McMahon Aldridge, 66, formerly of Keytesville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Parkdale Manor, Maryville, Missouri. Helena died of lung cancer after a sixmonth illness.

passed away Thursday morning, January 5, 2023, at the Neighborhoods Arbor Court in Columbia, Missouri. She suffered with Alzheimer’s and had been in nursing facilities in Columbia for the past ten years.

Wrestling Bulldogs Swept KCI Foes Last Thursday

Edged Mid-Buchanan 42-36, Handled Hamilton by 33 MARCELINE — With a fill-in providing the key win in overtime, Brookfield High School’s wrestling Bulldogs shaded the Mid-Buchanan Dragons 42-36 in dual-match action at Marceline High School’s fieldhouse last Thursday night, completing a sweep of a pair of matches against Kansas City Interscholastic (KCI) Conference opponents. BHS’ boys began their evening with a 57-24 triumph over Hamilton: Penney Although it came in the first half of the match against “Mid-Buck,” Kameron Perry’s triumph as he subbed for usual 132-pounder Gambal Staddie proved to be the tipping point for the Bulldogs’ victory.
