ChilliArts Opry to host three concerts

The Chillicothe Area Arts Council is hosting something new — a County Music Opry, presenting “Classic Country”. Arts Administrator, Mary Lou VanDeventer, hand-picked the band and vocals from musicians and singers from the area who have a passion for country music and the performing arts and are excited to share their time and talents.

Human Trafficking continues to plague Missouri travel corridors

Be alert for signs of human trafficking January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, marking the anniversary of the passage of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000. The Missouri Department of Transportation has joined forces with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement to combat the crime of human trafficking in the Show-Me State.

No basic law enforcement

Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox has announced there will not be a basic law enforcement academy in Chillicothe. “The Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) along with the Missouri Sheriffs' Association had spent significant time in organizing a Basic Law Enforcement Academy to be held in Chillicothe later this month with graduation planned for December 2023,” Cox said in a press release.
