Tigers shade host Macon by five points behind three 1-2 finishes, eight wins MACON — With eight wins, highlighted by a sweep of the top two places in three events, Marceline High School’s Tigers nosed out the hosts by five points – 233-228 – to win the team title of the 4-schools April 4 Macon Open track-and-field meet. The Lady Tigers, winning six of the 19 events, took second behind the host Tigerettes, scoring 176 points.
As much as it could have been, last week was a successful one for the Marceline and Brookfield high school baseball teams. It was just a little more so for MHS’ Tigers.
_e Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reports that it sampled and tested more than 33,000 deer for chronic wasting disease (CWD) during the 2022 CWD surveillance year between July 2022 and April 2023. Of the more than 33,000 deer sampled, 117 tested positive for CWD.
