Extremely windy weather on the first day of the April 1-2 youth season made for tough hunting and resulted in only 2,550 turkeys checked in for the season, the lowest youth season harvest since 2018. The top three youth-season turkey harvest counties statewide were Osage-71, Miller-65, and Texas-64.

Stop Tra_icking Project comes to area schools

If a middle school or high school student comes home talking about the “Coke and cockroach” story, they’ve recently attended a Stop Tra_cking Project presentation. e auditorium at Marceline High School was led with parents, community members, law enforcement o_cers, clergy, and teachers on Wednesday night, April 5, as presenter Russ Tuttle from the Stop Tra_cking Project gave an informative presentation on human tra_cking and the e_ects of pornography on children and youth, families, schools and communities.
