The Marceline Nutrition Center is located at 229 W. Hauser. Please call ahead at 660-376-3103 to reserve a carry-out meal, which will be ready at 11 a.m. Dine-in meals begin at 11:30 a.m. Suggested contribution is $3 per meal. 8 oz. low-fat milk is offered at every meal.

Sharp advances to this week’s sectional meet in four events, others in three UNIONVILLE — Scoring in 11 events – all except one of them races and including two points maxouts and a third double-dip, Brookfield High School’s track-and-field Lady Hornets finished second in the team standings and advanced to this week’s state-qualifying sectional meet in nine events as they competed in last Saturday’s Class 2 District 3 meet at the Putnam County High School facility. Distance runners Samantha Sharp and Clara Hoyt swept first and second places, respectively, in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meters runs, providing 36 of the Lady Bulldogs’ 95 team points, which trailed only Ewing: Highland’s 101.
Missouri’s 3-week spring turkey season ended last Sunday and hunters this year used unusually cold and dry weather to spend more time in the woods. The result was the most turkeys checked in since more than 38,000 were taken in 2020.
Lady Tigers to Saturday’s sectional meet in five events, Tigers in four UNIONVILLE — With a pair of event triumphs mixed in, nine Marceline High School track-and-field entries in last Saturday’s Class 2 District 3 meet at Putnam County High School extended their 2023 season by at least a week. Tigers Connor Ratliff and Caleb Stallo were the winners of the javelin throw and 110-meters high hurdles race, respectively, to pace the MHS district showing.
The Linn County Commission met on April 25 with Commissioners King and Muck and Clerk Stephenson present. Commissioner King called the meeting to order.
Visitors to the downtown Marceline have found now have a new reason to stop by the Coke Wall Mural, located at the northwest corner of Main Street USA and Ritchie Street. Last week, the Downtown Marceline Foundation announced the beginning of restoration work on the Coke Wall Mural, which will be completed by the end of May.
Walt Disney Elementary presents “The Lion King Kids” tonight Walt Disney Elementary School fifth grade music students are presenting “The Lion King Kids” at 6 p.m., and 7 p.m., on May 10 at Walt Disney Elementary School. Admission is free. Water and popcorn will be available for a free will donation.
