Despite Sixth Win in Row, Marceline High Gridder Stay Fourth Seed

MARCELINE — With a sixth-consecutive victory last Friday, the Marceline High School football Tigers did everything they could to try to earn more, but, because Penney High of Hamilton did likewise, the Tigers almost certainly will have to settle for playing at home only once in the upcoming district playoffs, rather than twice or possibly even all three times.The black and gold’s 55-16 home shellacking of Gallatin/Jamesport: Tri-County was unable to elevate them from their prior fourth-place spot in the Class 2 District 6 standings, leaving them to face fellow Lewis and Clark Conference member Salisbury (4-5) at MHS’ Chester Ray Stadium again in the quarterfinals of the district playoffs next Friday at 7 p.m.
