Deadline is Feb. 28 for Nominations for Missouri Public Safety Medals Honoring Heroic First Responders and Civilians

The Department of Public Safety is accepting nominations for the State of Missouri’s highest awards honoring first responders who took heroic actions beyond the call of duty in 2024. The awards are the Red, White and Blue Heart Award, Missouri Medal of Valor, and Governor’s Medal. DPS is also accepting nominations from Missouri public safety agencies for the Public Safety Civilian Partnership Award. The awards will be presented during a ceremony in Jefferson City in late 2025.

Josh Bondy: Teaching with Innovation and Creativity

Becoming an ag teacher never crossed Josh Bondy’s mind in the 1990s as he stood surrounded by 15 acres of green beans he grew for his FFA Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) project on his family’s diversified farm near Brunswick in #Agri-Ready Designated Chariton County. Josh was an enthusiastic and effective leader as a youth, but it never crossed his mind that he would be honored as Missouri FFA’s first Golden Owl and the Ag Educator of the Year in 2024. Today, he has been an Advisor for the Paris FFA Chapter for 18 years. Innovation and creativity are core to Josh’s strategy to teach and train future agriculture leaders in the Paris community.

Brookfield Rotary Hosts A.I.R. Spray

Brookfield Rotary met today at the Brookfield Family Restaurant. Our guest speaker was Jason Smith, Owner and operator of A.I.R. Spray (Agricultural Innovation Revolution). His company is a Drone Analysis and Spray Service. His Agricultural Drone service currently serves Carroll, Chariton, Lafayette, Linn, Livingston, Macon and Saline counties.
