Thwarted by the weather earlier this month, the North Missouri Sportman’s Alliance (NMSA) and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) have rescheduled their annual free Kids Fishing Derby to a week from tomorrow (Saturday, June 28), reports Steve Shoot, president of the NMSA.

BROOKFIELD - Brookfield Junction Park recently dedicated a memorial bench at the Brookfield Junction Park in honor of a past board member who was also a founding member. Gene Buckallew’s memory lives on in the park and there is also a plaque honoring his dedication to the park. Buckallew was a retired railroader was instrumental in helping to get the board started. The board helps to educate people in the present and future about railroads and the impact they’ve had on establishing Brookfield into what it is today. His wife, Wanda, children and grandchildren came to see the bench.
