LINN COUNTY - The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to the public about an ongoing scam targeting residents of the county. According to the sheriff’s office, individuals have reported receiving phone calls from someone falsely identifying themselves as “Deputy Brooks.” The caller claims to be a deputy with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office or affiliated with other nearby sheriff’s offices, instructing individuals to report to the sheriff’s office.
