2025 Ewigman Family Reunion

The 43rd annual Ewigman Family Reunion was held Saturday, July 26, at the Lake Nehai Clubhouse with 177 family members and 11 guests attending. This year’s chairpersons were Willie Ewigman and Ryenn Watson. The Pat Bradford family prepared the meat which was delicious deep fried catfish. Dennis and Sally Swenson were in charge of registration, and noted there are 314 registered descendants in the Ewigman Family. The Jim Ewigman family was in charge of set-up and clean-up. The silent auction was organized by Ashley Collins. Family group photos were taken by David and Erin Tilghman.

Fine-Tuning Time

Marceline and Brookfield high schools’ 2025 football and softball teams did “road tests” last weekend, except the BHS softball Lady Bulldogs’ was at home as they had practice games against both Trenton and Putnam County on the BHS diamond last Saturday morning. Marceline’s softball squad went to Palmyra that day for similar activity. The evening before, MHS’ football Tigers traveled to South Shelby High School near Shelbina for controlled scrimmages against the host Cardinals, Westran and Louisiana. The Linn County Memorial Post 538 of the American Legion met on Tuesday, August 12, in Linneus. The Girls State attendee, Alivia Cox, from Meadville reported on her attendance at Girls State; she gave a very interesting report. In attendance were John Shaul, Rick Scruggs, Dwayne Murphy, Paul Chapman, Ralph Ham, Fred Duncan, Allen Powell, Mary Ham, Danelle Herring and Eudora Fitzpatrick.

Kick Off Night Introduces MHS Athletes

MARCELINE - Marceline Football hosted its Kick-Off Night on Friday, Aug.15 to introduce fall athletes to the community through an ice cream social and player introductions. The evening featured a full lineup of activities, including decals and jersey presentation for players and families, an ice cream social with player introductions and autographs, sponsor appreciation, a youth scrimmage, a powder puff game, and a Black Rage football practice to close the night.
