• Survivors of Sexual Trauma Women’s Support Group. Sponsored by the North Central Missouri Mental Health Center. Hosted by 4 MOMS. Many women have survived sexual trauma in their lives. Often, they feel they are alone. We are offering a space for survivors to feel safe, receive support and give support. Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. 201 N. Main St., Brookfield. • The North Central Missouri Mental Health Center is now hosting a LGBTQIA Support Group for teens 17 and younger and adults. The meetings for youth 17 and younger will be held from 4-5 p.m., and adult group from 5-6 p.m., both on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the MOMS Breaking the Silence office located at 201 N. • Brookfield Farmer’s Market, Every Thursday from May through October, Brookfield will have a Farmers’ Market! Vendors must be set up by 3 p.m., and must have homegrown or homemade items for sale. Customers may begin shopping at 3 p.m. Located on the south side of East Twin Parks.

• Downtown Brookfield Sip & Stroll 4-7 p.m., This event offers a chance for attendees to enjoy local shops while sampling wines and beverages in a relaxed, social atmosphere.

• Adult Flu Clinic on Wednesday, Oct.1, offering both regular and high-dose flu vaccines from 2-5 p.m. at the health department. Vaccines are available for individuals ages 19 and older. Those requesting the high-dose vaccine must present a Medicare card. No appointment is necessary, and participants are asked to use the back entrance of the building. For more information, contact the Linn County Health Department at 660-258-7251. The center is located at 635 S. Main Street in Brookfield.
• The Pershing Health System Auxiliary’s Book & Gift Fair, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the old hospital lobby at Pershing Health System. Proceeds from the event directly fund healthcare scholarships for area students who are pursuing careers in the medical field.
October 3
• “Feed the Farmers,” at the Linn County R-1 Ag Shop. Farmers are welcome to stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to enjoy the meal.

• Bell Game. Brookfield.
• Bell Game Bash starts at 5:30 p.m., in the parking lot next to the License Bureau will be transformed into a hub of energy, laughter, and Bulldog pride—just in time for kickoff of the season’s biggest football rivalry. This is a free community event.
October 25
• 1st Annual 5K Color Run & Walk on Sat., Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. The event is being held in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and will raise funds for SEV (Saving Every Victim), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors and families affected by breast cancer and other challenges. Participants of all ages are welcome. Registration is $30 for ages 12 and up, $15 for kids ages 4–12, and free for children 4 and under. After the race, everyone is invited to stick around for a lively after-party celebration filled with fun, music, and community spirit. More information to come.
October 20
• MOMS Breaking the Silence will host its 6th Annual Dinner and Auction at the Locust Creek Event Center in Brookfield. Doors open at 4 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the auction will follow. Tickets are $30 per person or $200 for a table of eight, which includes dinner. The evening’s menu features fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, apple crisp, and chocolate cake. For an additional $20, guests can also purchase an armband for bottomless beer and wine.

• Linn County R-I PTO Free Will Dinner, 5–7:30 p.m., (or until sold out). The menu includes: smoked pulled pork & bun, potato salad, chips, baked beans, desserts, tea or lemonade.

• The YMCA Annual Benefit Dinner and Auction. The evening will feature a silent auction at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and a live auction at 7 p.m.
November 18
• The Friends of the Marceline Carnegie Library’s annual Pie Sale starting at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until all pies are sold. Shoppers are asked to bring cash or check for purchases.
December 6
• Downtown Brookfield’s Christmas Celebration. The holiday season in Brookfield will kick off with a festive Christmas event featuring decorations, holiday lights, and community cheer.
